CPG Product Photography

Your packaging only does its job if the photo does its job first. Before a shopper reads an ingredient panel or a claim, they react to an image, on a shelf, a search results page, or a feed, and decide in a fraction of a second whether your product looks worth their money. CPG product photography is the craft of making that split-second judgment work in your favor: clean, accurate, appetite-driving imagery that makes a tub of protein, a bottle of functional soda, or a blister of capsules feel premium and trustworthy.

Gerart Media is a creative agency for CPG brands, and product photography sits at the center of what we do for supplement, sports-nutrition, and consumer-packaged-goods companies. We shoot the hero images, on-white catalog frames, lifestyle scenes, and detail crops that your store, Amazon listing, retailer portal, and ad accounts all draw from, color-accurate, retouched to a high standard, and delivered in the exact formats each channel demands. The result is a single, coherent library of imagery that makes your brand look like the category leader you intend to become.

What's included

  • Hero product shots: your flagship pack styled, lit, and composed as the primary image for your homepage, PDP, and ads
  • Pure on-white catalog images that meet Amazon and retailer requirements (product fills the frame, no props, no shadows on the marketplace-compliant version)
  • Lifestyle and in-context photography, hands holding the product, a shaker on a gym bench, a beverage on set, that show use, scale, and aspiration
  • Macro and detail shots highlighting texture, finish, ingredient cues, and label craftsmanship
  • Group, range, and flavor-lineup shots for brands launching multiple SKUs or variants
  • Professional color correction and retouching: dust and scuff removal, accurate label color, clean edges, and consistent exposure across the full set
  • Final delivery in print-ready and web-optimized files (high-res TIFF/JPEG, transparent PNG cutouts, plus correctly sized exports for Amazon, your site, and social)

How it works

  1. 01

    Brief and shot list

We start with your goals, where the images will live (PDP, Amazon, retail, paid social), your brand references, and any must-have angles. From that we build a precise shot list and styling plan so nothing is improvised on the day and you know exactly what you are getting.

  2. 02

    Sample handling and pre-production

You ship clean, retail-ready product samples. We prep them, source any props or surfaces the styling calls for, and lock lighting and set design. For beverages and powders we plan pours, condensation, and texture in advance so the shoot runs efficiently.

  3. 03

    The shoot

We capture every frame on the shot list, hero, on-white, lifestyle, and detail, with controlled studio lighting and consistent setups. Tethered capture lets us confirm focus, composition, and color in real time so we walk away with usable files, not surprises.

  4. 04

    Retouching and color

Selected frames are retouched to a premium finish: clean edges, accurate label color, removed imperfections, and uniform exposure across the set so your imagery looks like one cohesive system rather than a pile of one-off photos.

  5. 05

    Delivery and channel exports

You receive the final library organized by use, with the correct resolutions and formats for each destination, including marketplace-compliant on-white files and transparent cutouts ready to drop into A+ content or renders.

Why Gerart Media

We specialize in CPG, supplement, and sports-nutrition product imagery, so we understand reflective tubs, foil pouches, frosted beverage bottles, and capsule blisters, and how to light each one without blowing out labels or losing detail.

We shoot for the channel, not just for the portfolio: every image is planned around where it will actually run, with marketplace-compliant on-white frames and conversion-focused hero and lifestyle shots in the same session.

Photography connects to the rest of our creative stack, packaging, labels, 3D renders, and Amazon A+, so your real photos and any rendered or layout work share one consistent visual language.

We deliver a clean, organized, ready-to-use file set with accurate color and high-end retouching, not raw dumps that leave you to fix exposure and exports yourself.

Frequently asked questions

How much does CPG product photography cost?+

Cost depends on how many SKUs you are shooting, how many image types you need per product (hero, on-white, lifestyle, detail), and how much styling and retouching is involved. A single-product, on-white-plus-hero set is far more affordable than a full launch library with lifestyle scenes and a multi-flavor lineup. As general guidance, most brands budget on a per-SKU or per-shoot-day basis, and the cost-per-image drops meaningfully as you add products to the same session, since lighting and set are already built. We scope each project after seeing your shot list and product range, then give you a fixed quote so there are no surprises. Tell us your SKUs and where the images will run, and we will recommend the most cost-effective shooting plan.

What is the typical timeline from booking to final images?+

Timelines vary with scope, but most projects move through a few clear stages: brief and shot-list approval, you shipping samples, the shoot itself, and then retouching and delivery. A focused single-product or small-SKU shoot is naturally quicker than a large multi-flavor launch library with extensive lifestyle work. The most common cause of delay is product samples arriving late or arriving damaged, so getting clean, retail-ready units to us early is the best way to keep things fast. Once we have your samples and an approved shot list, we schedule the shoot and give you a delivery date for retouched files. If you have a hard launch or retailer deadline, tell us up front and we will plan the schedule backward from it.

What files and formats do I receive?+

You receive a final, organized library built for real use rather than a raw export. That typically includes high-resolution master files (TIFF and/or high-quality JPEG) suitable for print and packaging, web-optimized JPEGs sized for your site and PDPs, transparent PNG cutouts for layouts and composites, and marketplace-compliant on-white frames sized to Amazon and retailer specs. Images are color-corrected and retouched, and we name and group them by SKU and use so your team can find the right asset quickly. If you have specific dimension or naming requirements from a retailer or your e-commerce platform, send them over and we will export to match. We can also provide additional crops or aspect ratios for paid social on request.

Can product photography be combined with 3D renders and Amazon A+ content?+

Yes, and it usually should be. Photography and 3D renders are complementary: photos deliver authenticity and real-world trust, while renders let you show angles, cutaways, ingredient call-outs, and perfect packaging before product even exists. We plan them together so they share lighting logic and color, and the combined set feels like one brand, not two. Those same assets then flow directly into Amazon A+ content, where real photos, lifestyle scenes, and rendered detail modules sit side by side. Because we handle photography, renders, and A+ design in-house, you avoid the mismatch that happens when three separate vendors interpret your brand differently. Many clients book photography as part of a broader launch package for exactly this reason.

Do you handle styling, props, and lifestyle scenes, or just plain product shots?+

Both. Clean on-white catalog and hero shots are the foundation, those are what most retailers and marketplaces require, but they rarely sell the brand on their own. We also design and shoot lifestyle and in-context imagery: the product in a gym setting, a beverage styled on set with condensation and garnish, hands scooping powder, or a flat-lay that signals lifestyle and benefit. We handle styling, surfaces, props, and set design as part of pre-production so the look is intentional and on-brand rather than improvised. During the brief we agree on exactly which scenes support your positioning and where they will run, so you get a balanced library: compliant catalog frames plus the aspirational images that drive clicks and conversions.
